Alberto Salvagno's biography
Son of a journalist, Alberto Salvagno was born in Chioggia (a little iland in the venetian lagoon) in 1946.
When he was seven he was given his first camera as a gift, and at that time started being a frequent visitor to the local photographer's darkroom. At the end of the fifties he also started taking 8mm films.
After an intense training period of photo-cine-video reportages commissioned for weddings, ceremonies, funerals and miscellaneous events, he produced his first monography of a tourist complex.
In 72 he graduated in chemistry from Padua University.
In 76, after specialising in reportages of open air tourist complexes, he moved to Rome to collaborate full time with a well known advertising agency specialising in this sector.
For more than ten years he travelled all through the penisula in his camper, in order to produce thousands of photoreports (more than a million photographs) in all holiday centres, and during the winter he covered Europe in its entirety to promote the Italian Tourist Industry at International Fairs.
At the same time he produced some travel articles in Trade Reviews, coordinated the monthy issues of the National Camping Association, was invited as a consultant at conventions concerning the problems of this sector, gave lectures on Marketing on behalf of Formez in Puglia and Sardinia, and lectured at the Faculty of Economy and Commerce of Florence (Course in Economy of Tourism)
In 1980 Enit awarded him a diploma for "services rendered to National Tourism", subscribed to the Order of Journalists, and took a private pilots licence.
His path to fulfilment brought him back, like a prodigal son, to the Veneto region, where he opened Studio PH.
It was then that he was introduced to a Commodore VIC 20, remaining fascinated by its potential. His scientific training found in this a fruitful venue for his artistic streak, causing him to transfer his creative professional skills into ever more sophisticated computer programmes.
At the end of the eighties, when the slogan '"Image and communication" had become an imperative expression, Studio PH. started a close cooperation with trade associations and public or private bodies in Padua in order to provide answers to this needs.
In this context, Hypertext, Multimedia, Interactivity, Internet, digital cameras, are only additional means which Studio PH. has adopted as soon as available on the market.
While continuing to specialize in Tourist Trade related projects, Studio PH. has for years undertaken any type of commission, both public and private, in view of its ability to rely on a valid network of professional collaborators.
